Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe was established through the enactment of the Securities Act (Chapter 24:25). Section 3 of the Act provides for the establishment of the Securities and Exchange Commission which is the regulatory body for the securities and capital markets in Zimbabwe. Commissioners were appointed on 1 September 2008 whilst the Secretariat was established in 2009.

Zimbabwe Stock Exchange

The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange Limited (‘ZSE’) is a licensed securities exchange in terms of the Securities and Exchange Act (24:25). Its core mandate is to facilitate long-term capital raising through listing of securities as well as offering secondary market securities trading and issuer regulation services. Dating back to 1894, the ZSE has evolved to be one of the longest-established capital-raising platforms in Africa.

Victoria Falls Stock Exchange

The Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX), is a subsidiary of the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (“ZSE”) established to kick start the Offshore Financial Services Centre (OFSC) earmarked for the special economic zone in Victoria Falls.

Chengetedzai Depository Company

Chengetedzai Depository Company Limited is a limited liability company incorporated in terms of the laws of Zimbabwe and was formed to establish and operate a central securities depository for the Zimbabwe securities industry.
