Intermarket Holdings Limited became the majority shareholder in May 1998, with a 59 percent shareholding.The company was formed to carry on the business of life assurance services, granting and purchasing of endowments on lives, granting and sale or purchase of annuities present and deferred or reversionary on lives. ZB Life has two major products lines namely the Individual life Business and the Employee Benefit Business, which comprises of the Defined Benefits scheme and the Defined Contribution Scheme. It has its own subsidiaries and associates, namely ZB Properties (Cinema) (Pvt) Ltd, Original Investments (Pvt) Ltd, Aasaculz Pvt Ltd, Checkweighers Farmers (Pvt) Ltd and Mashholdings Ltd.

THE MANAGING DIRECTOR- AMBROSE GARIKAYI CHINEMBIRI was appointed Managing Director of Intermarket Life in November 2003. Prior to his appointment, he was an Executive Director of the company. He is a member of the Investments, Marketing and Remuneration Committees. He has over thirty years experience in the life assurance industry, having joined the then Southampton Assurance Company in 1975. He is a director of Mashholdings Ltd and an associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe.
