 Under Unit Trust Funds, the capital of a large number of investors is combined and invested under the management of professional investment managers. This gives small investors access to economies of scale resulting from large investments and the expertise of professional investment managers.
General Equity Fund The Fund?s objective is to generate returns in
excess of the ZSE Share Indices over the medium to long term, whilst
observing an acceptable risk profile. The fund?s portfolio includes a
diverse selection of high - quality companies quoted on the Zimbabwe
Stock Exchange (ZSE) and money market assets that reduce the overall
risk.
Specialist Equity Fund The Fund?s objective is to
generate high returns, in excess of the ZSE Share Indices over the
short to medium. The fund?s portfolio comprises stocks that inter allia
trade at a discounted to net asset value and have potential for
growth. Companies that have prospects for strong profit growth are
also considered. Owing to the nature of the portfolio, investments in
the fund can be highly rewarding but there is a considerable amount of
risk attached and patience is called for.
Net Income Fund The
objective of this fund is to earn the highest level of income at
minimal risk. This fund invests in money market instruments, which
include treasury bills, government bonds, bankers? acceptances and
negotiable certificates of deposit. Interest earned here is subject to
withholding taxation at prevailing rates.
Gross Money Market This
fund is similar to the Net Income Fund except that income due to the
investor is exempt from withholding tax. Only tax exempt institutions
and real persons over the age of 55 can invest in this fund.
